Organization’s mission / school specificity:

The mission of the non-governmental organisation (NGO) People & Water is to provide development services to municipalities and rural communities, mostly within the Carpathian Euroregion. The goals of NGO People & Water are to solve the economic, social, cultural and environmental problems on the grassroots level by encouraging urban and rural citizens to be proactive through development, renewal and promotion of the traditional culture and diversity of the region.

Summary of water and sanitation major activities or campaigns of the organization since 2000:

1. Summer 2000 – Pilot project Blue Alternative – lanscape structure designing for keeping water in forest and fields by creating small wooden dams and ground steps to slow of water flowing from the country – Tichy Potok village. It was the fifth annual summer camp for young volunteers of NGOPeople and Water. In environmental issue.
2. Summer 2000 – Pilot project Altenative Waste Water Treatment in the base on BIOCLARE technology. Without outlet technolgy. There are three steps of waste water cleaning from each one can work separately (so we show three ways of water cleaning in one place). Nizne Repase village.
3. Summer 2001 – Pilot project Blue Alternative – landcape structure designe for flood protection. Small wooden dams and ground channels with trees can restrict/stop against floods and soil flush from fields above village. Torysa village.
4. 2001-2002 - Grass root Strategic Planning Process for developing of integral water management in Svinka river basin – Basins Help Themselves. Together with 21 mayors from villages around Svinka river.
5. 2001-2002 - New Theory of Global Warming – New up to now neglected coherences of human activities influence to climate changes and global warming.

We can present some projects from mentioned above, for example Waste Water Treatment or Blue Alternative pilot projects with summer camps, ...

Please, provide details of your possible way of travel to Bulgaria (means of transportation, price per person, town of entrance in Bulgaria; dates of travel – you are encouraged to arrive Sep. 1 and to leave Sep. 7):

Slovak delegation will travel by plane and town of arrival and departure is Sofia. We will know detailed time and day during one week.
