We have contacts with 9 NGO in our region and 11 NGO in Kazakhstan. CEU “Belovodye” is member of EcoForum of NGOs of Kazakhstan (and the chairman of CEU “Belovodye” is coordinator of Water Section in this EcoForum). We also have contacts with Ministry of Natural Resources of Republic of Kazakhstan, Parliament of RK, administration and deputies of the region, massmedia. We have contacts with Siberian Division of Russian Academy of Science in environmental investigations; we have experience in collaboration with eco-NGOs of East-Kazakhstan region, Kazakhstan and foreign organizations (International Rivers Net, USA; OSCE, Almaty; Social-Environmental Union, Moscow; European Rivers Network, France; Earth Charter, Costa-Rica; World Resources Institute, USA).

Summary of water and sanitation major activities or campaigns of the organization since 2000:

1. 2000-2002 – Project “Irtysh” (GEF; UNDP). Protection of the river Irtysh. Realization of the thesis of Aarhus convention in East Kazakhstan, juridical protection of environmental rights of the population. Main results are: improving the environmental situation in the water basin of the river Irtysh; creating the public ecological commission; having 3 actions to the defense of the river Irtysh; developing and strengthening of the environmental organizations in Semipalatinsk, Leninogorsk and Ust-Kamenogorsk; making network of the environmental organizations dealing with Irtysh; strengthening the NGO ‘s role in accepting the ecologically important decisions; making 2 video films about the environmental campaign; issuing of pamphlets, newsletter and booklets.
2. 2000-2003 – Annual Ecological Action “Clean bank”. Cleaning of river banks in towns of East Kazakhstan. Involving of students and pupils in ecological action and raising of environmental consciousness of youth and adults. There were more than 8000 participants in 2000-2003.
3. 2003 June – We are planning to carry out the International Conference on Problems of Ob-Irtysh River Basin. The purpose of this conference are discussion of problems and measures on improvement of an ecological situation of the rivers of Ob-Irtysh basin, transboundary problems, an exchange of experience, an establishment of long-term cooperation between the nongovernmental, scientific and state nature protection organizations of Ob-Irtysh basin, working in the field of protection of the rivers.

Please, describe briefly how you are going to participate in the project activities (see attached Second announcement) and which of your implemented projects you are going to present during the Parliament itself:

We plan participation in the project for all its stages. At a preparatory stage participation will consist in cooperation, communication, networking with youth leaders in water and sanitation sector from other countries through the Web-Site of project. We also plan to participate in Snap Shot Surveys and Internet Forum on water and sanitation management. In case our group will be chosen for participation in European Youth Water Parliament, we plan to present the project "Irtysh" which has been carried out CEU "Belovodye" in 200-2002. Also we can present materials of the International conference on Problems of the Rivers of Ob-Irtysh basin which will pass in Ust-Kamenogorsk in June 2003.

Please, describe briefly how you are going to disseminate the results of the Parliament:

We plan distribution of results of the project as follows:
- Informing local mass-media on a realization of the project;
- Distribution of information materials of Parliament among schools of East Kazakhstan (booklets, posters);
- Meetings with local authorities with the purpose of informing on results of work of Parliament and for development of the program of attraction of youth for application and development of democratic tools at decision-making in the field of preservation of water resources of region;
- Presentation of results of work of Parliament at session of Regional Coordination ecological Council of East Kazakhstan.
